Feb. 5 Skype talk from Dharma teacher Michael Ciborski This year's Skype talks and fall retreat will center on the theme The River of Awakening - Jump Right In and Stay There! Now, seemingly more than ever, we need to refresh, to renew, to listen more deeply, to learn new insight, to reconcile. And truly, with careful practice and the support of a virtuous community, healing and transformation are possible. Sit by the river, and allow its movement to become your own. Notice the curling eddy, the ripple, the tumble. Water is moving into itself, cleansing and healing as it flows. Practicing to be truly present with ourselves, as we are, opens the door for healing. With a clear and kind embrace, transformation occurs. When we come home to ourselves, we also discover we are a part of Life. That our suffering and joy are interwoven with all beings. We touch our not-separate-self nature. We become part of the River of Awakening. Practicing together, our insight and capacity grow strong enough to embrace the collective suffering of our society.
Tonight’s topic: Staying in Touch With the Wonder of Life – practicing to be in touch with the present moment, conditions for happiness, mindful consumption, and also the deep and stable ground of Interbeing
Michael gives of himself to us through Skype talks four times a year and at our annual fall retreat. In appreciation, all donations at sangha this evening will go to Michael. Please give as generously as you are able.
