Jan. 14 The Insight That Brings Us to The Other Shore Part 3 of our exploration of the Heart Sutra
Jan. 21 The Discourse on the White-Clad Disciple “The Sutra on the White-Clad Disciple is one of the most basic discourses of the Buddha, and it is easy to understand and practice. Its theme is the cultivation of faith in a life of happiness. The Buddha was not addressing superhuman beings; he was talking to ordinary people like you and me. Anyone can put these teachings into practice and bring about their own happiness, the happiness of those they love, and the happiness of others, including animals, plants, and minerals, right in the present moment.” Thich Nhat Hanh, For a Future To Be Possible https://plumvillage.org/sutra/discourse-on-the-white-clad-disciple/
Jan. 28 Day of Mindfulness - True Love: May All Beings Be Well 9:30 - 3:30 at our Fairview meeting space. If you are planning to attend, RSVP to email@example.com. Please bring a vegetarian dish to share for the potluck lunch. There is no charge for this day of practice together, but donations to cover expenses will be gratefully accepted. “Happiness is only possible with true love. True love has the power to heal and transform the situation around us and bring deep meaning to our lives. The Buddha’s teachings on love are clear, scientific, and easily applicable to daily life. Everyone of us can benefit from these teachings.” Thich Nhat Hanh, Teachings on Love
