Meditation Hall Guidelines
We're happy you're here and want to help make your time with us comfortable.
To support a calm and nourishing environment, we kindly ask that noble silence be observed during mindfulness practice periods in the meditation hall. Please silence your cell phones and keep conversation to a minimum during these times.
We recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing that allows ease in both sitting and walking meditation. Mats, cushions, and chairs are available—you are welcome to bring your own to support your meditation practice.
If you're joining us in person, please plan to arrive 10 minutes early so you can be seated and settled by our 4:00 p.m. start time.
Thank you for being part of this community! Your presence enriches our shared practice.
Directions to Resurrection MCC
📍 2025 W 11th St, Houston, TX 77008
We meet in the chapel at Resurrection Metropolitan Community Church—located in the Heights at the corner of W 11th St and T.C. Jester, right next to the White Oak Bayou Greenway.
The entrance to the chapel is on the east side of the church, facing the bayou. Look for a chapel sign near the small parking lot entrance closest to the stoplight. The exterior door near this lot is the most direct way into the chapel, as the rest of the church building may be locked during our meeting times.
Join Us Online via Zoom
We're grateful to be able to offer an online option for our Sunday sangha gatherings, so you can join us from wherever you are. Whether you're near or far, you're welcome to participate remotely via Zoom. We’re thankful for the technology that allows us to stay connected and practice together as a community, even at a distance.
5th Sundays
Please note: On every fifth Sunday of a month, we take a break from our regular Sunday evening program to enjoy time together in a more relaxed setting. Instead of meeting at the chapel/online, we gather at a nearby restaurant for an informal evening of dinner and fellowship.
Details are announced in advance—we’d love for you to join us! Please check the "Special Events" section of this webpage or the calendar for more information.

Next 5th Sunday Sangha Social:Â
August 31, 2025
**Location and time to be announced**
Every fifth Sunday of the month, in place of our regular meditation and Dharma talk, we come together for an evening of dinner and fellowship—a cherished tradition in our sangha.
This relaxed and informal gathering offers a meaningful opportunity to connect more personally, share a meal, and deepen the sense of community that supports our mindfulness practice. It’s also a warm and welcoming space for newcomers to get to know the group in a casual setting.
Please note: We do not meet in the chapel or on Zoom on fifth Sundays. Our usual Sunday meditation practice is paused for this community gathering.
