In 2026, MPCH formed a volunteer partnership with Lord of the Streets (LOTS), a 501(c)(3) organization affiliated with Trinity Episcopal Church that provides meals and social services to individuals experiencing homelessness.
Our sangha is scheduled to serve on the cook team on nine Sunday mornings (6:30 am - 9:00 am), helping to prepare a hot breakfast that is served after the 7:00 am worship service. For anyone who is considering participating, there is a two-step process:
1) Volunteer Interest Form
Complete a short Google Form so we can maintain a private list of who's interested in volunteering. Contact information will only be shared with fellow sangha volunteers for communication purposes.
2) Volunteer Sign-Up Sheet
A separate spreadsheet allows you to indicate which date(s) you are available and interested in volunteering for a shift. At this time, sign-ups are open for the first three shifts of 2026:
February 8
March 15
April 5
Each shift consists of 8 volunteers. While you may sign up for more than one Sunday, priority will be given to those who have not volunteered with LOTS previously, so that as many people as possible have the opportunity to participate. While we understand that cancellations can happen, please add your name only for dates you feel reasonably confident you could attend.
Confirmed volunteers will receive an email at least one week in advance with additional details, including directions, recommended attire, and other important information. If a shift is full, you may be invited to serve as an alternate, and we will also consider your availability for future shifts as opportunities arise.
